Stevenston residents will have an opportunity to quiz their top cop and local MP on worries they have about crime in the area.
Katy Clark MP has organised a meeting with Superintendent Jim Coubrough of Strathclyde Police, and Cunninghame South MSP Irene Oldfather at the lesser hall, Ardeer Centre , on Friday March 26th at 6pm.
As a recent survey by Strathclyde Police showed, crime is a real fear for local people with more than half of residents in Stevenston and Saltcoats saying they are worried about crime in their neighbourhoods.
This meeting will be a chance for residents to sharelocal concerns.
Katy Clark MP said:"I opened an office in Stevenston last year and since then many local people have popped in with their concerns about crime, drugsand anti social behaviour.
This is an opportunity for local people to speak directly to the Superintendent, their local MP, MSP and councillors, and outline what they think are the issues locally and try to get answers.
"I hope we will be able to provide suggestions for action that can be taken in terms of tackling them.
"It will also be helpful to hear from the police about what initiatives are already in place, and make residents more aware of the good work which is going on.
"I would like to hear what residents think is working well in the area, and what they hope can be improved on."
