Police launch murder hunt after man found in Stevenston street

Police have launched a murder hunt after a man died shortly after he was found lying in a street in Stevenston, having suffered what police described as a 'violent attack'.

Scott Margery, aged 27 from Ardrossan, was found lying seriously injured on a footpath near Main Street, Stevenston, by a passing driver at about 4am on Sunday morning, police said.

He was taken to hospital, where he later died.
