Online waste collection service for Stevenston locals
Struggling to get rid of stuff that won’t fit into the wheelie bin? Don’t worry; the council has come up with a not-so-rubbish idea of a simple online collection service.
Stevenston residents are now able to arrange for the local authority to collect bulky household waste over the internet.
All you have to do is visit the council’s special uplift page here, fill in your details and tell them what you want to be uplifted.
You will then be told what date your uplift will take place.
Councillor Tom Barr, spokesperson for the environment, said: “More and more Council services are becoming accessible online, providing a more convenient option for many people.
“Of course, residents can still use the traditional methods of arranging a special uplift.
“However, being able to book and pay online will make it easier for a lot of people.”
All items for uplift should be grouped together and put out before 7am on the day of collection.
As well as online, you can still arrange for a special uplift by calling 0845-603-0594.
The items should be placed to the front of the property as near to the pavement as possible within the boundaries of your property.
There is a charge of £12 for up to five items, with additional items costing £2.40 each (all charges include VAT).
It is simple and secure to pay online as well. If you pay by card you will receive an email confirming payment along with a reference number.
