Go green and get fit at new-look Ardeer Quarry
4 AugustArdeer Quarry in Stevenston is set to get a whole new look as it is converted to become a 'Green Gym'.
The new scheme will gives locals the chance to improve their health, fitness and the environment - and has now branched out to include Stevenston.
North Ayrshire's 'Green Gym' is a project which helps people become healthier, both physically and mentally.
Green Gyms offer a great opportunity to volunteer within your local community while improving your health and the local environment. The group is led by an experienced officer and volunteers participate in a variety of activities such as planting, pruning, erecting fences, building bird boxes and general conservation work.
Health assessments, health information and guided walks to the Green Gym site will be available to everyone who is interested. So come along and experience Stevenston’s Green Gym. No experience necessary! Â
