Footballers attacked by thugs after match in Stevenston

Thugs targeted two teams of footballers in a shocking attack which took place after a match played at Stevenston's Ardchoile Park.

The players were attacked by an angry mob of drunken neds after the match between Stewarton United and Ardeer Rovers. The teams were set upon by chair-wielding thugs as the league game ended, with both sides having players punched and hit by chairs.
